WEBSTER – A lone penalty kick goal proved to be the difference as No. 2 Caledonia-Mumford edged past top seed Kendall 1-0 this evening in the Section V Class CC championship game at Webster Schroeder High School.

Hannah Anderson scored on the penalty kick with 25 minutes to go provide the margin of victory for Cal-Mum.

“They played tough,” Kendall Coach Pam Beres said of Cal-Mum. “They came out strong and played a heck of a game.”

Lady Raiders goalie Kenna Kosinski later helped preserve the win with a diving save with 13 minutes to go. That stop ended a Kendall rush which also included a shot by Nicole Browe which sailed just wide with 15 minutes remaining.

“We had a couple of opportunities late but their goalie kept them in the game,” Beres said.
