Looking to avenge a narrow 1-0 loss in last year’s final, No. 2 seed Kendall will take on No. 1 Caledonia-Mumford for the Section V Class CC championship at 7:30 this evening at Honeoye Falls-Lima High School.

Cal-Mum, which brings a perfect 18-0 season record into the title contest, has defeated Alexander 3-0 in the quarterfinals and No. 4 Geneseo 3-1 in the semifinals.

Kendall, which is at 16-1-1, advanced to the championship game by blanking No. 7 Campbell-Savona 6-0 in the quarterfinals and No. 6 Warsaw 3-0 in the semis.

Cal-Mum has been led offensively this season by the trio of Jessica Garland (18 goals, 12 assists), Rachel Hume (15 goals, 5 assists) and Adrianna Molisani (10 goals, 9 assists).

Maya Rutland has spearheaded the Kendall attack with 27 goals and 5 assists. Taylor ReQua has had 11 goals and 15 assists, Taylor Rutland 5 goals and 7 assists and Elizabeth Rath 3 goals and 3 assists for the Lady Eagles.

“It will be a tough matchup,” said Kendall Coach Pam Beres, “The key will be if we can possess the ball like we did against Warsaw and keep control in the attacking third. We know we have our work cut out for us.”
