Knights earn hockey tie with Buffalo

The Roy-Hart/Barker/Medina/ Wilson/Newfane Knights Club hockey team played Buffalo for the third time this season and came away with a 5-5 tie Wednesday. Previously, Buffalo had won 8-1 and 7-4.

Cameron Bryer (Wilson) scored very early in the game unassisted,. However, Buffalo scored two very quick goals, before Bryer scored on a power play from Gavin Ickowski (Roy-Hart) and Aaron Woodward (Wilson).

In the second period, Buffalo again took a two goal lead before Woodward scored from John Peracciny (Roy-Hart) and Bryer completed his hat trick from Woodward and Peracciny. Before the end of the period, Buffalo scored again for a 5-4 lead.

In the third, Ickowski scored at the 5:12 mark from Woodward to complete the scoring and create the tie.

Neither team could score in the overtime, with Buffalo holding a 7-1 advantage in shots, but Jordan Johnson (Medina) stopped all of them.

The Knights complete the regular season this weekend with games in Olean on Saturday evening and a 10 a.m. home game against Nichols on Sunday.
