Key N-O field hockey games on tap this week

The Niagara-Orleans League field hockey title race will feature several key games early this week involving the top five teams in the standings.

Undefeated (4-0) Roy-Hart will look to maintain at least a share of the top spot as the Lady Rams visit perennial title contender Barker (2-1) on Monday. The Lady Raiders, which are coming off a big sweep of a pair of  non league contests at Pennsylvania foes, will then entertain Wilson (2-2) on Tuesday.

Also on Tuesday, undefeated (4-0) defending champion Akron visits Medina (2-2) in the Mustangs debut on the new artificial turf at Vets Park. The Lady Tigers have allowed only one goal to date this season in N-O action.

In N-O boys soccer action Roy-Hart (3-1) looks to stay within a game of undefeated (5-0) defending champion Newfane as the Rams visit Akron (0-2-1) Tuesday and Medina/Lyndonville (1-3) on Thursday.

N-O girls soccer action will be highlighted by Saturday’s rivalry matchup as Newfane (4-0-1) hosts Wilson (3-2).

In N-O volleyball a clash of unbeatens for first place will have defending champion Akron (3-0) hosting Wilson (3-0) on Monday. Medina will also visit rival Albion on Monday.

In Genesee Region League girls soccer action, Holley will host rival Kendall on Friday for Homecoming.
