Photos by Tom Rivers: Kyle Holz, manager of a Lugia’s Ice Cream on Wheels, peeks through the service window today.

Holz made his debut this weekend with the ice cream truck at the Thomas the Tank Engine event in Medina. He will be back next weekend for Thomas in Medina and also will be at the Albion Strawberry Festival.

Holz, 30, is a Kent resident. His first job was at Brown’s Berry Patch. He went on to work for Walmart and was a co-manager of a store.

The new venture is a fun opportunity to work with the public. Besides community events, Holz will take the ice cream truck to birthday parties, graduation parties, wedding receptions and will be going to Buffalo neighborhoods.

LuGia’s is based in Spencerport and has nine food trucks. Holz is leading the push into Buffalo for LuGia’s.
