Kendall’s Gaesser places 4th at state golf championships

Putting together a strong finishing round, Kendall High junior Evan Gaesser has finished in fourth place at the state golf championships which concluded today at Cornell University.
Improving on his opening round score of 77 on Sunday, Gaesser fired a one over par round of 72 today for a 149 total, just three shots off the pace, and a fourth place finish which earns him an invitation to the state Federation Tournament which will be held at Bethpage, Long Island.
Gaesser, the Genesee Region League champion, qualified for his third trip to the state championship by finishing in a tie for sixth place at the Section V championships. The top nine finishers comprise the Section V team to the state championships.
