Taking the lead for good with an early goal, Kendall went on to defeat visiting Pembroke 3-2 this afternoon in a Genesee Region League boys soccer game.

Kendall jumped out to a quick lead when Michael McCue scored just 3:12 into the game off an asset from Hayden VanDusen.

The Eagles doubled their advantage when Jake Esposito tallied at the 17:33 mark of the opening half as Derek Edick earned the assist.

Pembroke did cut the deficit to 2-1 four minutes later on a goal by Sean Pustulka but the Dragons would get no closer.

McCue later scored what proved to be the game winner with 16:16 to go in the second half off an assist from VanDusen to give the Eagles a 3-1 lead.

Now at 2-3, Kendall is next scheduled to host rival Holley at 7 p.m. Monday.
