Kendall tops Lyndonville in G-R finale

Pulling away in the second half, Kendall downed host Lyndonville 4-0 this afternoon in the Genesee Region League boys soccer season finale.

Kendall held a narrow 1-0 lead at the half as Josh Esposito scored with six minutes remaining off an assist from Zach Barrett.

The Eagles then broke the game wide open by erupting with a three goal scoring burst in the first 14 minutes of the second half.

Barrett ignited that uprising by scoring on a header off a corner by Jonathan Reyes just three minutes into the half.

William Kludt followed up with a goal six minutes later off an assist from Barrett and then Austin Werth tallied five minutes later as Kludt picked up the assist.

Jimmy Swift earned the shutout in goal for the Eagles, Brody Hazel made several big stops in goal for the Tigers.

Kendall finishes the G-R season at 7-5 and Lyndonville at 2-10.

Attica/Alexander 2, Holley 1

Attica/Alexander completed a 12-0 G-R title season with a narrow 2-1 win over visiting Holley.

Simon Lamparelli scored a goal in each half for Attica/Alexander while Cam Bates tallied for Holley off an assist from Chris Mosier.

G-R Girls Soccer
Notre Dame 3, Lyndonville 1

A goal just before half-time keyed Notre Dame to a 3-1 win over visiting Lyndonville in a G-R girls soccer game this afternoon.

Lyndonville tied the game at 1-1 late in the first half on a goal by Michayla Greene off an assist by Elizabeth Whipple.

However, Notre Dame answered right back with a penalty kick goal by Emma Sisson to regain the lead for good at 2-1 just before the half.

Autumn Mathisen tallied an insurance goal in the second half for Notre Dame whose first goal of the day was scored by Kate Ricupito.

Lyndonville’s Kevin Travis sends the ball up field as Lucas Jones defends for Kendall.
