Kendall spikers top Lyndonville

LYNDONVILLE – Improving to 5-4, division leading Kendall downed Lyndonville 25-18, 20-25, 25-19, 25-21 this evening in a Genesee Region League Divison 2 volleyball match.

Kendall jumped out to an early lead taking the first set 25-18 as Tyler Banker served up points 15-21.

Lyndonville quickly knotted the match by taking the second set 25-20 as Katie Marek scored points 6-9 and Abigail Feldman 11-15.

However, Kendall countered with a 25-19 win in the third set to regain the lead for good. Leading by a narrow 11-10 margin, the Lady Eagles pulled away as Olivia Welch served up points 18-21, including two aces, and Banker added aces for points 23 and 24.

The Lady Eagles then closed out the victory by taking the fourth set 25-21 as Welch served up aces for point 20 and 21 and Banker scored points 34-24.

Earlier in the set, Maria Albanese put together a huge run of 12 straight service points (4-15) to vault Kendall out to a 15-3 lead.

Lyndonville though rallied back into a 17-17 tie as Cierra Riley served up points 9-17. A spiking kill by Morgan Hungerford pulled Lyndonvile even again at 18-18 but the Lady Tigers could not regain the lead.

Kendall scored seven of the next 10 points to take the set and the match.

The loss drops Lyndonville to 2-7. In one other Division 2 match, Wheatland-Chili defeated Holley 25-7, 25-21, 25-20.
