Avenging a four set loss at home earlier in the week, Kendall outlasted host Lyndonville to earn a tight five set 27-25, 21-25, 22-25, 25-21, 25-23 victory in a Genesee Region League girls volleyball match this afternoon.

Jessica Coble had 35 digs, 11 assists and 4 kills; Brittney Marks 31 digs, 16 assists, 4 kills and 2 aces; Jenna Regan 14 kills, 6 aces and 2 blocks, and Kelly Mayes had 10 kills, 4 digs, 3 aces and 2 blocks to lead the way for Kendall.

In addition, Autumn Woodward contributed 16 digs, 5 aces, and 2 kills. Anna Oakley added 7 digs, 3 aces and a kill, and Harley Faro had 6 digs and a kill for the Eagles.

“This game was super back and forth the entire 5 sets. It seemed like each team got the momentum for a bit and then it shifted the other way very quickly,” said Kendall Coach Morgan Engelbert. “Kendall held out in sets 4 and 5 to take the tough victory, but it really could’ve gone either way. Props to Lyndonville for working hard and playing a great game!”

For Lyndonville, Hannah Despard had 38 digs. Alecia Hinkson had 15 digs, 14 kills and 9 aces; Carlie Russo 6 kills and 6 blocks and Cassidy Boyce12 kills and 11 digs.

“It was a complete team effort on our end,” said Engelbert “They picked each other up and played together the entire game. Avenging a loss from earlier this week to a very tough team is not easy to do and they showed up and did it. I’m proud of them!”
