Kendall spikers claim G-R Division 2 title

KENDALL – Going undefeated against division foes, Kendall captured the Genesee Region League Division 2 volleyball championship this season.

Joining Kendall’s G-R champion boys and girls soccer teams, the Lady Eagle spikers compiled a perfect 9-0 record against Division 2 opponents.

The Lady Eagles went 3-0 against rival Holley and 2-0 against Lyndonville, Wheatland-Chili and Oakfield-Alabama. One five set victory each over Lyndonville, W-C and Oakfield-Alabama highlighted that successful title run.

Kendall, which finished the regular season at 11-7, also scored a pair of non league victories over Webster Christian.

The No. 6 seeded Lady Eagles opened the Class DDD sectionals with a three set victory over No. 11 East Rochester but were then eliminated by a three set loss to No. 3 Warsaw.

Seniors Olivia Welch, Alexa Young, Shauna Ricker, Maria Albanese and Tyler Banker headed the Kendall roster which also included juniors Jamie Treat, Kali Haskins, Becca Pearson, Katie Richardson, Carley Lester, Abby Horst and freshman Chelsea Wright.
