Kendall softball team eyes bounce back season
Looking to rebound from last year’s 1-11 Genesee Region League campaign, Kendall returns a good nucleus of six veterans heading into the upcoming softball season.
The Lady Eagles veteran contingent includes seniors Kelly Mayes (first base), Anna Oakley (outfield) and Autumn Woodward (second base) along with juniors Lizzie Sutphen (outfield) and Brittney Marks (shortstop) and freshman Sara Mattle (pitcher). The bats of Oakley, Marks and Mattle look to lead the offense.
“We have a good mix of veteran leadership and youth coming back this season,” said Coach Jeff Parizek. “We need to make the routine plays, take advantage of runners in scoring positions, and work hard day in and day out in a very competitive Genesee region. I truly feel that we will be playing our best softball when the time is right and will get stronger as year progresses!”
Kendall is scheduled to begin G-R competition at home on Tuesday against Wheatland-Chili.
