Kendall softball squad romps past W-C

Pounding out a total of 23 hits, Kendall rolled to a 23-6 victory over host Wheatland-Chili this afternoon in a season opening Genesee Region League softball game.

Brittney Marks and Autumn Woodward both had 4 hits, winning pitcher Sara Mattle 3 and Lizzie Sutphen and Anna Oakley 2 each to lead the attack for Kendall which scored 5 quick runs in the first inning, 9 in the second and 7 in the third.

Mattle, Sutphen, Oakley and Woodward each drove in 3 runs. Mattle’s hits included a home run and Oakley’s a double.

In the circle, Mattle scattered 6 hits and struck out 4.

Kendall next hosts Elba on Thursday.

The Lyndonville vs. Elba, Holley vs. Pembroke and CCA vs. Barker games were all postponed.

Brockport 17, Medina 0
Jumping out to a 10-0 half-time advantage, Brockport went on to defeat visiting Medina 17-0 this afternoon in a non league lacrosse game.

Medina next visits Wilson at 5 p.m. Wednesday for a Class D Division contest.
