Kendall scores sweep over rival Holley

Kendall scored a Genesee Region League basketball sweep over rival Holley this evening winning the boys game 41-39 and the girls contest 47-16.

Zach Barrett scored 17 and Derek Edick 10 to lead the way for the Kendall boys as Quante Gillians added 6 points and 14 rebounds.

Broek Ostrom scored 16 and Charlie Turpyn 9 for Holley.

Up by a narrow 16-14 margin at the half, Kendall got 10 from Barrett and 7 from Edick in the second half to help claim the win. Ostrom netted 12 in the second half for the Hawks.

Alezya Brown scored 9 and T’Mia Kitchings and Elizabeth Snyder each added 6 to set the pace for the Kendall girls which are now 3-3. Brown also had 10 rebounds.

Tatum Gagne scored 7 for Holley.

Kendall held a 16-8 lead at the half.

Wheatland-Chili 61, Lyndonville 58

Cold free throw shooting (9 of 21) proved costly for Lyndonville as the host Tigers dropped a narrow 61-58 decision to visiting Wheatland-Chili in a G-R boys contest.

Nathan Dillenbeck took game high scoring honors for Lyndonville with 26 as Noah Poler added 19 and Russell Stephens 10.

Aaron Lund scored 16, Bryly Henshaw 13 and Leighton Williams 11 for W-C which held narrow leads of 29-27 at the half and 44-43 at the three-quarter mark.

Dillenbeck scored 13 in the final stanza to lead a Tigers surge while Poler had 11 in the second quarter.

Lyndonville is now 3-3.
