Kendall scores Homecoming sweep

Eagles win in OT, Lady Eagles roll 5-0

Kendall’s varsity soccer teams swept to a Homecoming doubleheader victory this afternoon.

The Kendall boys squad went to double overtime to nip Attica 1-0 in the opener in a Genesee Region League contest.

Jake Adams scored the game’s lone goal for Kendall on a direct kick with 1:14 remaining in the second 10 minute overtime period.

Earlier in the second overtime period Kendall goalie Cameron Zinsmeister made two huge saves to keep the contest scoreless. On the second stop he came way out of the net to make a clutch sliding save thwarting an Attica breakaway.

Kendall improves to 3-1 in the league and 4-3 overall.

The Kendall girls completed the sweep by blanking Pembroke 5-0 in a G-R contest as Coralee Freitag scored 3 goals and Maya Rutland 2 to spearhead the Lady Eagles attack.

Freitag opened the scoring with a goal at 27:34 of the first half off an assist from Taylor ReQua.

The Lady Eagles advantage increased to 3-0 by half-time as Rutland scored with 15:30 to go on a breakaway and Freitag tallied with 11:38 remaining off an assist from Emily Boyle.

Rutland and Freitag then each netted a goal in the second half to round out the scoring.

The Lady Eagles remain undefeated at 7-0 in the league and 10-0 overall.
