Kendall rallies past Pembroke
Putting together a big 36-13 second half scoring surge, Kendall rallied to defeat visiting Pembroke 61-40 this evening in the Genesee Region League opener.
Trailing by two, 27-25, at the half Kendall rallied to outpoint Pembroke 19-8 in the third period and 17-5 in the fourth to claim the win as a switch in defenses keyed the Eagles comeback.
“We switched to man-to-man defense starting late in the second quarter and that was the difference as they couldn’t adjust to the switch,” said Kendall Coach Justin Laureano.
Colton Breslawski scored 21 points and grabbed off 4 rebounds to lead the way for Kendall as Mookie Nauden had 16 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and Evan Gaesser 14 points.
Gaesser had 11 points, including three three, and Breslawski 5 to lead the Eagles third period uprising which rallied Kendall into a 44-35 lead.
Breslawski then netted 8, including a three, and Nauden went 4 of 6 from the free throw line down the stretch to help lock up the Eagles’ victory.
Now at 2-0 overall, Kendall next visits Barker Friday in a non league contest.
