Kendall rallies late to nip Notre Dame

Photo by Cheryl Wertman – Brandon Miller had the game winning point in Kendall’s narrow home court victory over Notre Dame this evening.

Putting together a clutch stretch run, Kendall rallied to edge past visiting Notre Dame 50-49 this evening in the Genesee Region League season finale.

A free throw by Brandon Miller with just two seconds remaining capped off Kendall’s dramatic 8-2 run to close the game and claim the victory.

Miller also had two baskets sandwiched around a three by Nate Warters during that last ditch  surge as the Eagles erased a 49-42 deficit.

Miller finished with a total of 14 points and Warters 12 as John Rath and Collin Lewis both added 8 and Ben Frasch 6. Miller also grabbed off 14 rebounds while Warters had 5 rebounds and 5 assists.

The contest sea-sawed back-and-forth as Notre Dame led 14-10 after one period, Kendall 26-22 at the half and Notre Dame 36-32 at the three-quarter mark.

Ryan Moffat scored 18 and Nico Zambito 10 to lead the Fighting Irish.

Pembroke 69, Holley 48
Pembroke closed out the G-R season with a 69-48 win over Holley as Ried Miano led the Dragons with 20.

Derek McArthur scored 17, Dylan Hillabush 13, Patrick Bower 9 and Andrew Moseman 7 for Holley. McArthur also had 8 assists and 5 rebounds, Bower 8 rebounds and Hillabush 7.

Pembroke held leads of 17-12 after one period, 32-20 at the half and 48-32 after three quarters.
