Kendall, Holley booters post G-R wins
Kendall maintained sole possession of first place by posting narrow 2-1 victory over Byron-Bergen/Elba this evening at Byron-Bergen in a key Genesee Region League boys soccer game.
Holley likewise scored a G-R win on the road as the Hawks defeated Pembroke 5-1.
Kendall 2, Byron-Bergen/Elba 1
Breaking away from a 1-1 deadlock, Kendall scored the game winner with nine minutes remaining in the second half on a goal by Will Condo off an assist from Jake Adams.
Adams also netted the Eagles first goal in the opening half off an assist from Riley Iqbal.
“That is a big win,” said Kendall Coach Brian Duffy.
Kendall improves to 3-0 in the league (6-0 overall) while Byron-Bergen/Elba slips to 2-1-1.
Holley 5, Pemberoke 1
Gabe Mendoza had 3 goals and 2 assists and Andrew Cary 2 goals and 2 assists to lead Holley to a 5-1 G-R victory at Pembroke.
Now at 2-0-1 in the league and 5-0-1 overall, Holley was tied 1-1 at the half.
N-O Schedule Changes
Today’s Albion vs. CSAT game was postponed. Tuesday’s scheduled Akron at Medina game has also been postponed until October 4.
