Kendall has a youthful softball squad

Underclassmen dominate the lineup for the Kendall varsity softball squad which is scheduled to open the season with a non league home game against Barker at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Kendall, which has only four seniors on its 16 member squad, is led by the veteran group of seniors Taigan Guerrero (outfield), Lauren Pilon (first base) and Emma Quintern (outfield) along with junior Danielle Offhaus (pitcher), sophomore Ella Christ (shortstop) and freshman Brooke Rodas (catcher/infield). Pilon earned Genesee Region League All-Star honors last spring.

The Lady Eagles roster also includes senior Danon O’Brien (second base), juniors Angelina Aguirre (outfield), Alliya Bills (outfield/infield), Erin Bills (outfield), Amber Harrier (outfield), Kylie Marion (outfield/infield), Gracie Robb (outfield/infield) along with sophomores MaKaila Abrams (outfield/infield) and Lia Larson (third base/catcher) and freshman Alea Barrett (second base).

Kendall’s graduation loses included G-R All-Stars Sara Mattle (pitcher) and Shelby Kruger (third base) along with Honorable Mention selections Grace Levett (second base), Grace Robinson (shortstop), Julie Coble (outfield) and Libby Snyder (outfield).

“We lost quite a bit but we have a good group back so we’re going to build around them,” said Coach Jeff Parizek.

Kendall is slated to open the G-R season at rival Holley on Wednesday.
