A multi year All-League soccer player at Kendall High, Ashley Makowski has now become a two sport star at Genesee Community College.

Makowski, who had 12 goals and 4 assists for the GCC women’s soccer squad last fall, is now having a big season for the Lady Cougars lacrosse team this spring having scored 20 goals and dished out 12 assists during the regular season.

Makowski has earned GCC Athlete of the Week honors after scoring 14 goals and handing out 6 assists as GCC posted a 3-0 record last week to earn its first ever postseason appearance.

She scored seven goals, including the tying goal in the first overtime and the winner in the second OT, as the Lady Cougars outlasted Herkimer Community College in the regular season finale to earn a spot in the regionals.

GCC, which compiled its best ever regular season record at 6-3, is seeded No. 4 for this weekend’s Region 3 semifinals. The Lady Cougars will face top seeded Monroe Community College at MCCC Saturday in the semifinals.
