Anchored by a trio of returning starters, the Kendall High golf team is looking to defend its Genesee Region League championship which the Eagles shared with Notre Dame last spring.

Ironically, the Eagles are scheduled to visit Notre Dame in the G-R season opener on April 1.

Senior Dustin Furness, a two-time G-R League champion (2010, 2013) and fifth year starter, sophomore Evan Gaesser, a two-time G-R All-Star (2012, 2013) and Section V state tournament team member, and freshman Jacob Adams, a three year starter head the Kendall lineup.

“Our goal is to compete again for the G-R League championship,” said John King who is coaching the Eagles along with Jim Sauberan. “We lost our No. 2 golfer Alex Doty and our No. 5 golfer Evan Christensen due to graduation. We are looking to returnees Jon Miller (Fr.), Tyler Cochrane (Jr.), Creagan Maclaren (So.), Bridget Miller (So.), Ben Frasch (Fr.), Cam Zinsmeister (Fr.), Clancy Frearson (Fr.) and Jesus Aquirre (Fr.) and newcomers Zach Adams (Jr.), Nick Schuth (Jr.), Ethan Billings (7th), Bryce Gaesser (So.) and Callahan Speer (7th) to help us be competitive again.”
