Kendall girls win in OT; Albion romps
Kendall bested visiting Alexander 3-2 in overtime today in a Genesee Region League girls soccer game.
Brianna Wakefield scored the game winner for Kendall three minutes into the first overtime period off an assist from Taylor ReQua.
The Lady Eagles jumped out to an early 1-0 lead as ReQua scored off an assist from Michela Hanlon.
However, Alexander rallied to first tie the game before half-time and then to take a 2-1 lead early in the second half on a goal by Sam Gibbs.
Kendall though rebounded to retie the contest at 2-2 when ReQua scored off an assist from Hailee Mitchell.
Kendall improves to 3-1 in the league and 4-2 overall.
Albion 5, Roy-Hart 0
Building up a 3-0 half-time advantage, Albion went on to blank visiting Roy-Hart 5-0 this morning in a Niagara-Orleans League game.
Nikki Eldred opened the scoring for Albion with a goal off an assist from Brylie Hapeman.
Hapemen then scored twice herself, off assists from Emily Blanchard and Catherine Thom, to make it 3-0 at the break.
The Purple Eagles then locked up the win on second half goals by Blanchard, off an assist from Kendall Derisley, and Sarah Gregori.
Albion is now 1-3-1 in the league and Roy-Hart 1-4.
Newfane 7, Medina 0
Newfane stayed unbeaten at 5-0 with a 7-0 win over visiting Medina.
Makena Carpenter and Adelyn Burns both scored two goals to lead the Newfane attack as Emily Foltz, Brianna Heers and Lila Maurer each chipped in with one.
The loss drops Medina to 2-2-1.
