Kendall girls win G-R softball opener
Scoring at least four times in three of the first four innings, Kendall went on to defeat host Wheatland-Chili 15-10 this afternoon in the Genesee Region League softball opener.
Kacey Menge went 5 for 5, including 3 doubes and 3 RBIs, for Kendall as Madison Rath had 4 hits, including a double and triple and 4 RBIs, and Chelsea Wright 3 hits, including a double and triple.
Akron 6, Medina 2
Defending champion Akron downed visiting Medina 6-2 in a Niagara-Orleans League game.
Abby Stone had a triple for Akron which scored twice in the first, fourth and fifth innings.
Morgan Allis had a two-run double in the first inning for Medina which also got singles from Alisha Scroger and Alexis Neuman.
Akron is now 2-0 and Medina 0-1 in N-O action.
