Kendall girls win G-R opener in overtime
Kendall opened defense of its Genesee Region League Division 1 girls soccer title in exciting fashion today with a 3-2 double overtime victory at Attica.
TT ReQua scored all three goals for Kendall which has claimed the G-R Division 1 crown the last three years in a row.
“It was definitely a nail bitter,” said Coach Pam Beres. “We had 14 shots in the first half but could not finish. But when we needed it we got it done.”
Trailing 1-0, Kendall pulled even on a goal by ReQua 25 minutes into the second half.
The teams traded goals in the first 10 minute overtime period as a ReQua tally 4 minutes in was then off set by an Attica score.
The Lady Eagles finally pulled out the narrow victory when ReQua tallied with two minutes to go in the second overtime.
Kendall next visits rival Holley at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
