Kendall girls to open sectionals at home

Photo by Cheryl Wertman – Kendall’s Taylor ReQua and her Lady Eagles teammates will open Section V Class D1 playoff competition at home on Wednesday.

Kendall will open Section V Class D1 girls playoff competition at home this coming Wednesday as the No. 8 seed Lady Eagles host No. 9 Naples at 7 p.m.

Kendall brings a 9-11 record into the sectionals while Naples is 8-12.

In another Class D1 opener, No. 14 Lyndonville will face a very familiar foe as the Lady Tigers visit No. 3 Genesee Region League foe Notre Dame at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Lyndonville, which lost twice to Notre Dame during the G-R season, is 3-17 while the Irish are 14-6.

In Class C1, No. 15 Holley visits No. 2 Gananda at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Holley is 0-19 and Gananda 17-3.

Section V boys playoff action gets underway on Tuesday with Kendall, Lyndonville and Holley all facing road tests.

In Class D1, No. 12 Kendall visits No. 5 Lima Christian and No. 9 Lyndonville travels to No. 8 Honeoye, both at 7 p.m.

Kendall brings a 5-15 regular season into the sectionals while Lima Christian is 12-8, Lyndonville 9-11 and Honeoye 10-10.

In Class C, No. 13 Holley visits No. 4 LeRoy at 7 p.m. Holley is 0-20 and LeRoy 12-8.

The pairings for the Section VI boys and girls basketball playoffs will be announced on Saturday.
