Kendall girls soccer has youthful lineup

Underclassmen dominate the lineup for the Kendall girls varsity soccer team which will tune up for the Genesee Region League season by competing in the Albion Tournament on Wednesday and Friday.

The Lady Eagles will face Newfane in Wednesday’s 4:30 p.m. opener as Albion will host Alexander at 6:30 p.m..

Kendall is led by the veteran group of seniors Emma Quintern, Regan VanDusen, Mary Jones and Lily Lavaca along with juniors Angelina Aquirre,  Megan Gates and Elizabeth Pratt, sophomore Ava Quintern and freshman Brooke Rodas. Ava Quintern scored 13 goals last season.

“We have a young team but we have a strong core to build off of,” said Coach Paul Zeppetella. “We’re looking forward to getting going.”

The Lady Eagles graduation losses included G-R All-Stars T’mia Kitchings and Alezya Brown along with Honorable Mention selections Julie Coble, Grace Robinson, Kailie Regan and Grace Levett.

Kendall will open the G-R season at home on September 9 against Byron-Bergen.
