Kendall girls roar to sectional victory with big second half surge

Putting together a huge second half scoring barrage, No. 2 seed Kendall rolled to a 6-0 victory over visiting No. 7 Campbell-Savona this evening in the quarterfinals of the Section V Class CC girls soccer playoffs.

Maya Rutland scored three goals to lead the big uprising for Kendall which improves to 15-1-1 on the season.

Breaking away from a 0-0 deadlock, Kendall scored what proved to be the game winner 8 minutes into the second half as Rutland tallied off an assist from Elizabeth Rath.

The Lady Eagles quickly doubled their advantage just three minutes later as Jenna LoSapio scored her first goal of the season.

That opened the scoring floodgates as the Lady Eagles tackled on two more goals by Rutland, off assists from Taylor ReQua and Rath, along with one goal each by ReQua and Keri Furness, off an assist from Marisa Hanlon.

Kendall next faces No. 6 Warsaw Tuesday at a site to be determined in the Class CC semifinals.

Section VI Class B

In Section VI Class B playoff action, Wilson nipped Fredonia 2-1, East Aurora shutout Roy-Hart 3-0 and Falconer/Cassadaga Valley trimmed Akron 3-2.
