Kendall girls post win over Lyndonville

Pulling away in the third period, Kendall downed visiting Lyndonville 40-28 this afternoon in a Genesee Region League girls basketball game.

Lizzie Sutphen led the way for Kendall with a game high 13 points as Jenna Regan added 9, Brittney Marks 7, Autumn Woodward 4, Katie Pearson 3, Elizabeth Snyder 2 and Alezya Brown and Sienna Friedman 1.

Anna Lewis paced Lyndonville with 11 as Alecia Hinkson and Savannah Poler both had 6, Stacey Buckland 3 and Prezli Silversmith 2.

Kendall jumped out to a 10-3 first period lead but Lyndonville battled back to close the gap to four, 15-11, at the half on baskets by Lewis, Silversmith, Hinkson and Poler.

Kendall though pulled away for good by opening the third period with a key 10-0 run, including 4 by Regan and 3 by Sutphen, to open up a 25-11 advantage.

The Lady Eagles outscored the Lady Tigers 16-7 in the stanza to maintain a 13 point, 31-18, lead at the three-quarter mark after late baskets by Pearson and Woodward.

Kendall led by as many as 19, 40-21, down the stretch after opening the final period with a 9-3 run including two baskets by Regan.
