Kendall girls post shutout win; Akron nips Albion; Roy-Hart downs Barker
Kendall scored an 8-0 shutout victory over Monroe High of Rochester this afternoon in a non league softball game played at Holley.
Sara Mattle picked up the win in the circle for the Lady Eagles hurling a 2 hitter with 6 strikeouts.
Madison Shonitsky had 4 hits and Anna Oakley and Autumn Woodward 2 each to lead the Kendall attack. Oakley had a pair of doubles and Shonitsky one.
Akron 4, Albion 3
Snapping a 3-3 deadlock, Akron pushed across a run in the seventh inning on a single by Mya Thomas to nip Albion 4-3 in a Niagara-Orleans League game.
Albion had tied the game at 3-3 with a run in the sixth inning on a hit by Aly Knaak.
Knaak, Kendall Derisley and Kenzi Hapeman each had 2 hits and an RBI for Albion.
Roy-Hart 24, Barker 0
Defending champion Roy-Hart scored a total of 22 runs in the first two innings to key as 24-0 win over Barker as the Lady Rams improve to 5-0 in N-O action.
Mallory Steiner had 4 hits, Ashley Hill 3 and Claire Halstead and Emily Metz 2 to set the pace for Roy-Hart. Halstead’s hits included a home run while Steiner, Hill and Metz each drove in 4 runs.
