Kendall girls have 6 G-R All-Stars

Lyndonville, Holley players also earn honors

Undefeated (13-0) Division 1 champion Kendall has placed a large contingent of six players on the Genesee Region League girls soccer All-Star team.

The Lady Eagles delegation includes senior forward Maya Rutland, senior midfielder Taylor Rutland, senior defender Julia Smith, senior goalie Jenna Jacob, junior defender Elizabeth Rath and sophomore midfielder Taylor ReQua.

Maya Rutland, Taylor Rutland, Jacob and ReQua are all repeat honorees.

Maya Rutland, who also earned G-R Player of the Year honors, led Kendall in scoring with 29 goals and 7 assists while Taylor Rutland had 12 goals and 10 assists and ReQua 11 goals and a team leading 22 assists.

Anchoring a defense which registered 11 shutouts in 13 league games while allowing a total of only two goals, Jacob made 102 saves and had a goals against average of 0.211. Helping to key that defense, Smith also had 2 goals and 3 assists and Rath an assist.

Kendall senior midfielder Coralee Freitag, who had 9 goals and 5 assists, also earned Honorable Mention on the G-R All-Star squad.

In addition, Kendall mentor Pam Beres has been named G-R Coach of the Year.

The other Orleans players earning G-R All-Star honors include Lyndonville’s Aubrey Lewis, left, along with the Holley duo of Riley Sanger and Madison Papaj.

Three other Orleans players also earned G-R All-Star honors including Lyndonville junior midfielder Aubrey Lewis along with Holley’s duo of senior midfielder/forward Riley Sanger and sophomore goalie Madison Papaj.

Lewis, a repeat selection, had 5 goals and 2 assists this season for the Lady Tigers.

Sanger had 4 goals and 2 assists for the Lady Hawks while Papaj made 86 saves and had a 1.143 goals against average.
