Kendall girls down Rochester Prep; Holley and Medina score league wins
A big second quarter scoring surge keyed Kendall to a 43-28 victory over visiting Rochester Prep this evening in a non league girls basketball game.
Trailing 9-6 after one period, Kendall put together a big 19-6 second quarter surge to rally into a 25-15 half-time advantage.
Elizabeth Snyder led Kendall with 13 points, including 8 in the decisive second period, as Alezya Brown added 10 and Jenna Regan 7.
Brown also grabbed off 13 rebounds, Snyder 12 and Regan 11.
Holley 53, Byron-Bergen 48
Building up leads of 32-20 at the half and 47-35 at the three-quarter mark, Holley went on to defeat visiting Byron-Bergen 53-48 in a Genesee Region League game.
Maddy Marsh scored 20 and Olivia Radford 10 to lead the way for Holley as Jade Holforth and Halee Passarell both added 8. Marsh also grabbed off 14 rebounds.
Medina 40, Newfane 36
Medina improved to 6-3 in Niagara-Orleans League competition with a narrow 40-36 victory over host Newfane (2-6).
Camri King scored 13, Maddie Williams 12 and Tyesha Robinson 8 to set the pace for Medina. Robinson had a basket and two free throws and King two free throws down the stretch to help the Mustangs lock up the win.
Rachel Chunco led Newfane with 12.
