Kendall girls down Notre Dame in 9

Avenging an earlier season 16-1 loss, Kendall trimmed Notre Dame 7-6 in 9 innings this afternoon in a Genesee Region League softball game.

Emily Mattle singled in Kacey Menge, who had reached on a double, with the winning run for Kendall in the 9th.

The Lady Eagles had knotted the contest at 6-6 by scoring twice in the sixth on a double by Menge and a single by Madison Rath. A single by Lizzie Rath ignited the rally.

Menge finished with a total of 3 hits as Mattle, Rebecca Banker and winning pitcher Chelsea Wright each had 2.  In the circle, Wright struck out 7.

Holley’s Derek MaArthur placed second in the singles competition as did the Hawks duo of Dylan McKay and Steven Morgan in doubles at the G-R Section V Class C qualifier hosted by Holley.

G-R Golf
Notre Dame defeated Holley 227-261 in a G-R golf match.
