Kendall girls blanks Oakfield-Alabama; Byron-Bergen downs Lyndonville

Pulling away in the second half, undefeated Kendall posted a 5-0 victory over host Oakfield-Alabama this evening in a Genesee Region League girls soccer game.

Kendall improves to 5-0 in the league and 8-0 overall.

Maya Rutland scored what proved to be the game winning goal for Kendall in the first half off an assist from Taylor Rutland.

The Lady Eagles then broke away from that tight 1-0 margin by scoring twice in the first 16 minutes of the second half. Coralee Freitag scored 12 minutes in and Maya Rutland followed up with another goal just four minutes later as Taylor Rutland again earned the assist.

Kendall capped off the victory with goals by Julia Smith, off an assist from Taylor ReQua, and by Taylor Rutland.

Jenna Jacob made 3 saves to earn the shutout in goal.

Byron-Bergen 3, Lyndonville 0

Breaking away from a 0-0 deadlock, Byron-Bergen erupted for three quick goals in the first 10 minutes of the second half to earn a 3-0 G-R victory at Lyndonville.

Leah Thompson scored two goals and Kelsey Maurer one for the Lady Bees.

Alexander 2, Holley 0

Alexander scored a goal in each half to blank Holley 2-0 in a G-R game.
