Kendall girls begin D1 title defense Saturday; Holley, Albion and R-H in quarterfinals Fri.
Seeded No. 2 Kendall will begin defense of its Section V Class D1 girls soccer title as the Lady Eagles host No. 7 CG Finney at 6 p.m. Saturday.
Finney (9-8) advanced with a 3-0 win over No. 10 Pavilion in the opening round.
Kendall, which brings a 13-3 record into the sectionals, has been led offensively this season by Hailee Mitchell (18 goals, 7 assists), Alezya Brown (11-2), Brianna Wakefield (10-12), Madison Jacob (7-11), Grace Levett (6-3) and Lizzy Woodams (5-5).
In a Section V Class C1 quarterfinal, No. 4 Holley (10-5-2) will host No. 5 Canisteo-Greenwood (11-5-1) at 6 p.m. Friday.
The Lady Hawks offense has been sparked this season by Halee Passarell (11 goals, 7 assists), Olivia Radford (10-8), Samantha Bates (6-4) and Kayleigh Neale (5-13).
In a Section VI Class B1 quarterfinal No. 9 Albion (9-7-1) will face top seeded City Honors (10-5-1) at 3:30 p.m. Friday at Wiley Stadium in Buffalo.
Leading the Purple Eagles offense this season have been Abby Scanlan (18 goals, 4 assists), Claire Squicciari (8-7), Mariah Plain (4-9) and Kendall Derisley (4-6).
A trio of Niagara-Orleans League teams will be involved in Section VI Class B2 quarterfinals on Friday as No. 4 Roy-Hart (11-4-1) hosts No. 5 Southwestern (10-4-2) at 6 p.m.; No 2 Akron (12-4) entertains No. 7 Falconer (9-5-3) at 3:30 p.m. and No. 6 Wilson (10-5-2) faces No. 3 Olmsted (8-6-2) at All High Stadium in Buffalo at 3:30 p.m.
Kara Choate has led the Roy-Hart offense this season with 19 goals and 6 assists.
Akron has been led by Kara Sequin with 31 goals and 9 assists while Wilson has been paced by the duo of Skylar Munnikhuysen (15-11) and Leia Cloy (11-5).
