Kendall downs Medina/Lyndonville
Breaking away from a tight contest, Kendall used a quick two goal scoring burst midway through the second half to key a 4-1 victory over Medina/Lyndonville in a non league boys soccer game this morning at Lyndonville.
Leading by a narrow 2-1 margin, Kendall opened up a little breathing room when Riley Iqbal scored on a header with 24:22 to go in the second half off a long free kick by Cody Travis.
The Eagles then struck again in lightning quick fashion just 1:09 later when Travis tallied on a corner kick to make it 4-1.
Kendall also got off to a quick start as Jake Adams scored just 8:01 into the game off an assist from Will Condo.
Those two players then reversed those roles just five minutes later as Condo scored on a rebound at 26:48 after an initial shot by Adams to give the Eagles a 2-0 lead.
Medina/Lyndonville though battled back as Brian Anderson scored with 4:57 to go in the opening half to cut the deficit to 2-1.
However, the Mustangs could not dent the Kendall net again.
Kendall stays perfect at 5-0 with the win while Medina/Lyndonville slips to 3-2.
Kendall next visits Byron-Bergen Tuesday in a key Genesee Region League game while Medina/Lyndonville hosts Akron Wednesday in a Niagara-Orleans League game. The Eagles are 2-0 in G-R competition while the Mustangs are 3-1 in N-O action.
