Seeded No. 5, Kendall will open Section V boys basketball playoff competition at home on Tuesday against a very familiar foe.

Kendall, which brings a 14-5 record into the sectionals, will host Genesee Region League foe No. 12 seed Alexander (6-13) at 7 p.m. in a Class C2 pre-quarterfinal contest.

The two teams split a pair of regular season G-R meetings. Alexander won the first at home 66-55 in overtime and Kendall took the second at home just last week 44-38.

The winner will advance to a quarterfinal round contest on February 27 against the winner of the No. 13 Red Jacket (5-12) vs. No. 4 Dundee (15-3) game.

Holley (7-12) , which is seeded No. 10 in Class C1, will visit No. 7 Sodus (7-11) at 7 p.m. Tuesday. The winner will face No. 2 Early College (14-5) in the quarterfinals on February 27.

Lyndonville (7-12), which is seeded No. 7 in Class D1, will face No. 10 Alfred-Almond (5-14) at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Letchworth. The winner will face No. 2 Notre Dame (12-7) on February 28 in the quarterfinals.
