Kendall cagers top host Elba in G-R contest
Completing a 2-0 road win week, Kendall trimmed host Elba 57-52 in a Genesee Region League boys basketball game this evening.
Louie Conte scored 16, Jacek Kwiatkowski 13, Devin Edick 10, Austin Werth 10 and Zach Barrett 8 for Kendall. Kwiatkowski scored 7 in the final period to help the Eagles lock up the win.
Nick Scott scored 15 and Angelo Penna 14 to pace Elba.
Kendall led by margins of 15-10 after the first quarter, 27-16 at the half and 41-36 after three quarters.
Kendall next hosts EMHCS of Rochester at 2 p.m. Monday in a non league Martin Luther King Jr. Day contest.
Oakfield-Alabama 87, Lyndonville 32
Up 42-18 at the half, Oakfield-Alabama went on to down Lyndonville 87-32 in another G-R contest.
Kyle Porter scored 21, Brayden Smith 15 and Colton Yasses 12 to lead the Hornets.
Mason Nicholson scored 13, Ian Mank 8 and Trenton Muck 6 for the Tigers.
Maritime 65, Medina 33
Medina dropped a 65-33 decision to WNY Maritime in a non league game played at Villa Maria College.
Jamanye Corbett scored 14 and D’Man Brooker 10 to pace Maritime.
Jerrell Nealy scored 10, Aiden Pitts 8, Justin Pitts 6 and Roosevelt Mitchell 6 for Medina.
Up by only seven, 20-13, at the half, Maritime used a 22-10 third period scoring advantage to pull away to a commanding 42-23 advantage heading into the final quarter.
Medina next hosts Barker at 6:30 p.m. Friday in a Niagara-Orleans League game.
