Looking to keep the momentum from last year’s strong postseason run, Kendall is prepping for the upcoming season bolstered by a strong nucleus of six returnees.

Seniors Alex Sutphen, Garrett Love, Dustin Furness and Devin Appleton along with juniors William Condo and Deandre (Mookie) Nauden, lead the way for Kendall which advanced to the Section V Class C3 finals last year finishing with a 12-9 overall record.

The Eagles roster also includes a quartet of newcomers including Isaiah Brown, Tyler Johnson, Riley Iqbal and Jonathan Steffen.

“We lost two key contributors to graduation in Dan Kelly and Jonah Dalcin but we feel we have the players to step in and fill those positions,” said Coach Justin Laureano. “We are looking to improve upon our run from last season. We are setting our goals just as high as we set them last season and will work with tremendous effort to reach them. We want to learn from our experiences last year and improve all the way around.”

The Eagles are scheduled to host Barker on Dec. 3 in a non league contest before opening Genesee Region League competition at Pembroke on Dec. 6.

“We won’t sneak up on anybody this season,” Laureano said. “Each team will be prepared to give us their best effort every night we play. The players on this team understand that and will be ready from the opening tip.”
