Kendall cagers are repeat G-R champs
Closing with a long winning streak, Kendall recently completed a second straight Genesee Region League Division 1 championship season.
Just 3-2 after the first five games, Kendall won nine of its last 10 G-R games, including the final six in a row, to lock up the championship.
The returning starting duo of seniors Mookie Nauden and Will Condo anchored the lineup for Kendall which also included seniors Evan Gaesser, Justin Barrett and Riley Iqbal along with juniors Jacob Ramsdell, Colton Breslawski and Nick Manners and sophomore Brandon Miller.
“We had some question marks going into the season but we had our younger guys step up,” said Coach Justin Laureano. “But our two returning starters, Mookie and Will, really were the keys for us with the game experience they have.”
Condo averaged 15.8 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.9 steals per game while Nauden averaged 13.5 points, 7.2 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 2. steals.
The Eagles also had Gaesser average 9.1 points, Breslawski 6.0, Ramsdell 5.8, Manners 2.9 and Miller 3.5 Ramsdell also averaged 5 rebounds per game and Miller 4.8.
Kendall finished with a 12-3 G-R record and a 15-6 overall mark.
