Kendall booters sweep rival Holley in OT

Kendall’s boys and girls soccer varsity soccer teams apparently enjoyed today’s Homecoming celebration so much that they played nearly an extra 30 minutes (a total of 3 extra periods) to score a pair of overtime victories over rival Holley in a Genesee Region League action.

The Kendall girls nipped Holley 1-0 on a goal by Maya Rutand just 19 seconds into the first overtime period off an assist from Emily Boyle. The goal was the team leading 13th of the season for Rutland.

The victory keeps Kendall undefeated at 8-0 in G-R competition and 9-0 overall while Holley slips to 2-5-1.

The Kendall boys followed up with an identical 1-0 overtime win over Holley as Skyler Heller made his first goal of the season a huge one as he tallied with 3:37 to go in the first extra period off an assist from Riley Iqbal.

Kendall again stays perfect at 6-0 in the league and 10-0 overall.

The loss drops Holley to 2-2-1 and 5-4-1 overall.
