Kendall booters eye bounce back season
With a good group of 11 veterans on hand the Kendall boys varsity soccer squad is looking for a bounce back season after last fall’s 2-15 campaign.
The Eagles veteran contingent includes goalie Mason Kuhn, defenders Jayden Pieniaszek, Noah Rath, Nick Rochardson, Tristyn Moyer and Noah Walzer and midfielders Dawson Custer, Brahayan Gonzalez and Dale Steffen, all seniors along with junior forward Jacob Esposito.
The Eagles are also looking to junior defender Hayden VanDusen and sophomore midfielder Michael McCue.
“I’m pretty excited about this year,” said Coach Rich Esposito. “We’ve got a good core this year and we’re looking to improve. We’ve got the experience we’ve just got to get back to basics and play together as a team.”
Kendall’s graduation losses included goalie Hunter Menze, defender Jon Rath, midfielders Ryan Barrett and Mickey Gardner and forward Nate Warters.
The Eagles will open the Genesee Region League season on September 4 at home against Attica.
