Kendall booters blank Albion

KENDALL – A quick three goal scoring burst late in the first half powered Kendall to a 4-0 victory over Albion this afternoon in a non league boys soccer game.

Leading by a narrow 1-0 margin, Kendall broke the contest open by scoring three times within a span of seven minutes. Riley Igbal ignited that uprising by scoring a goal with 11 minutes to go in the half. Alex Sutphen followed up with a goal just two minutes later and Dan Miller tacked on another five minutes after that booting the Eagles advantage to 4-0 at the break.

Miller also scored the Eagles first goal.

Kendall improves to 5-0 while Albion slips to 0-5.

In a Genesee Region League game this evening, host Wheatland-Chili nipped Holley 1-0.

Girls Soccer

Albion 10, Barker 0
ALBION – Emily Blanchard scored four goals and Abby Squicciarini three to spearhead the attack for Albion in the 10-0 Niagara-Orleans League win over Barker.

Jayne Bannister, Mikayla Yaskuski and Ally Page each chipped in with a goal for the Purple Eagles as Justice Nauden and Bannister shared in earning the shut out in the nets.

Albion improves to 5-1 in N-O action while Barker falls to 0-6.

Akron 8, Medina 0
AKRON – Two goals by Caitlin Regan led a parade of seven scorers for Akron (5-1) in the 8-0 victory over Medina (2-4).

Newfane 7, CSAT 0
NEWFANE – Savannah Jonathan scored four goals and Kaylee Heschke two to lead Newfane (4-2) past CSAT (0-6) 7-0.

Wilson 3, Roy-Hart 0
GASPORT – Goals by Lauren Austin, Dipporah Barrett and Emily Paterson sparked Wilson (6-0) to a 3-0 win over Roy-Hart (2-4).

Field Hockey

Barker 2, Kenmore 1 OT
BARKER – Taking over sole possession of first place, defending champion Barker (4-0) nipped Kenmore (3-1) 2-1 on a goal by Morgan Brown, off an assist from Oliva Denny as the overtime period ended.

Heather Mason scored the Lady Raiders other goal in the second half.

Akron 5, Wilson 0
AKRON – Claudia Stone had three goals to led Akron (3-1) past Wilson (1-3) 5-0 as Gabby Hill and Sarah Schultz netted the other goals. Tori Triaga earned the shut out.

Newfane 6, Roy-Hart 2
MIDDLEPORT – Morgan Bedford scored four goals to pace Newfane (3-2) to a 6-2 win over Roy-Hart (0-4). Abby Stevenson and Katie Meland netted the Lady Panthers other goals.
