Kendall blanks Bloomfield in U17 soccer

Photo by Cheryl Wertman – Sarah Harrington had an assist for Kendall in Tuesday evening’s win over visiting Bloomfield.

Maintaining a hold on second place, Kendall blanked visiting Bloomfield 3-0 Tuesday evening in a Rochester District Youth Soccer League girls U17 Division 3 game.

Katie Pearson earned the shutout in goal as the Kendall defense was also anchored by the quartet of Lizzie Sutphen, Cierra Perrin, Sierra Apicella and Julie Coble.

T’Mia Kitchings scored what proved to be the game winning goal for Kendall in the first half off an assist from Liz Woodams.

Kendall then put a lock on the victory with a pair of unanswered second half goals as Grace Robinson scored off an assist from Julia Smith and then Smith tallied from Sarah Harrington.

The victory boosts Kendall’s record to 5-1-2 while fourth place Bloomfield slips to 4-4.

Kendall next visits Bloomfield in a rematch on July 17.
