Kendall, Albion, Roy-Hart and Barker all score softball victories
Kendall outlasted Byron-Bergen 14-9 in a Genesee Region League softball game this afternoon.
Kendall put a lock on the win by erupting for 9 runs in sixth inning highlighted by a home run by Izzy D’Agostino.
Brooke Rodas also had a home run and Maggie Zastrow 3 doubles for Kendall as D’Agostino, Alea Barrett, Ella Christ and Inez Stangler also each had a double. D’Agostino drove in a total of 4 runs and Zastrow 3.
Albion 5, Alexander 3
Albion scored twice in the sixth inning to edge Alexander 5-3 in a non league softball game.
A bases loaded walk by Paige Newton and an RBI single by Rori Higgins plated the decisive runs for the Purple Eagles. Singles by Lux Froman, Kaitlyn Bennett and Leah Pawlak loaded the bases to set up the opportunity.
Roy-Hart 16, Medina 0
Roy-Hart shutout visiting Medina 16-0 in a Niagara-Orleans League softball game.
Abby Fox hurled a 4 hitter with 6 strikeouts for Roy-Hart which improves to 7-1 in N-O softball competition.
Fox also had a pair of hits as did Millie Owens with a single and double.
Sam Heschke had 2 hits and Lilah Class a double for Medina.
Barker 2, Newfane 0
Defending champion Barker nipped visiting Newfane 2-0 in another N-O contest.
Improving to 6-1, Barker scored once in the second inning on an error and once in the fourth on pop-out.
Peyton Bradley allowed 3 hits and struck out 7 to earn the win in the circle for Barker.
Newfane pitcher Emma Schaughnessy gave up just 1 hit and did not have a strikeout.
Wilson 10, Akron 7
In the other N-O game, Wilson (5-2) downed Akron (1-6) 10-7.
Abbie Faery had 3 hits for Wilson and Alexis Salmon 2 for Akron.
