Kendall ‘9’ nips Livonia in 8 innings
Kendall pushed across a run in the top of the eighth inning to nip host Livonia 4-3 in a non league baseball game this afternoon.
A sacrifice fly by Nic Cole drove in the winning run for the Eagles snapping a 3-3 deadlock. A walk to Vinnie D’Agostino, a single by Colby Hughes and an intentional walk to Sammy Conte loaded the bases to set up the threat.
D’Agostino then took over on the mound in the bottom of the eighth and retired Livonia on a pop out, a strikeout and a ground out back to the mound to preserve the win.
Earlier, Kendall scored twice in the first inning on a ground out by Hughes and a steal of home by D’Agostino and once in the second on a wild pitch.
Livonia scored solo runs in the second and third innings and later tied the contest at 3-3 with a run in the seventh.
Now at 2-0, Kendall next visits Alexander at 5 p.m. Monday in a Genesee Region League game.
