Kendall 17U romps to twin bill sweep
Romping to a pair of lopsided wins, Kendall downed the Ontario Eagles by scores of 15-0 and 16-3 in a Monroe County Baseball Region 17U doubleheader Monday evening.
Lou Conte had 4 hits and Nic Cole, Gavin Braun and Jimmie Swift 2 each in the opener. Cole also picked up the win on the mound allowing no hits and striking out 5 over 4 innings.
Kendall grabbed a quick 3-0 lead in the first inning as Conte and Vinnie D’Agostino both had RBI singles.
Cole then banged out a three run double to highlight a big 6 run second inning which broke the contest open.
Swift added a two-run single in the third and Braun a two-run double in the fourth.
In the second game, Kendall erupted for 11 runs in the first two innings. A two-run single by Cole highlighted a 5 run first inning. A grand slam home run by Cole then keyed a 6 run second.
Jonny Conte finished with 3 hits as Lou Conte, Swift, Cole and Braun each chipped in with 2.
Kendall improves to 10-2-1 with the sweep.
