Jr. Wilson II splits softball twin bill
Jr. Wilson II rallied in the seventh inning to nip Mariachi De Oro 6-5 Monday evening in the first game of a Medina Women’s Softball League ‘B’ Division doubleheader.
Trailing 4-1, Jr. Wilson II rallied for five runs in the seventh on a three-run single by Jenn Thom and RBI singles by Julie Tette and Rachel Preston.
Thom had a total of four hits in the game, Preston 3 and Tette and Bety Fox 2.
Mariachi De Oro took the second game 11-7 sparked by a six-run fourth inning.
Preston had 3 hits for Jr. Wilson II as Tette and Fox both had 2.
Orleans Vets 8, Banes 1
Orleans Vets scored three quick runs in the first inning and four more in the second to key a 8-1 win over Banes Monday.
Sue Seefeldt and Kristin Guild each had 2 hits for Banes.
