JR Wilson II rallies past Team Monte; unbeaten Banes romps in Women’s Softball
JR Wilson II rallied from an early 9-4 deficit to edge past Team Monte 16-14 Monday in a Medina Women’s Softball League game.
Two runs in the sixth inning proved to be the difference for JR Wilson as Nicki Dresser and Jen Molisani had key hits.
Earlier, Team Monte erupted for 7 runs in the second inning, highlighted by triples by Gloria Smith and Ashley Crawford, to build up the 9-4 advantage. Crawford also had a home run in the third frame.
Julie Tette had a three-run homer and Molisani a two-run HR to highlight the JR Wilson’s offense which also included a triple by Audrey Schalek and doubles by Nicki Dresser and Rachel Preston.
Dresser, Jenn Thom and Dom Hughes all finished with 3 hits for JR Wilson as Laura Valley, Tette, Molisani, Schalek and Preston each had 2.
Crawford, Koreena Couch and Allysia Pogel each had 3 hits for Team Monte as Tiffanee Robb and Emily Oaks both had 2.
Banes 14, Tats & Bats 3
Keeping up a recent trend, Bane’s Machine Shop/Banes Plumbing got off to a quick start to down Tats & Bats 14-3 Monday to remain undefeated at 6-0.
Banes scored 3 quick runs in the first inning on singles by Robin Blaun, Kathy Allen, Grace Masse and Amy Allis.
Three walks combined with singles by Connie Heschke, Sue Seefeldt and Jen Masse plated 3 more tallies in the second frame.
Banes then broke the game open by scoring five times in the third inning on 3 walks and singles by Allis, Heschke, Seefeldt and Jen Masse.
Allis finished with 3 hits as Lexi Neuman and Grace Masse both had 2.
