Jr Wilson II, Banes score twin bill sweeps

Jr. Wilson II and Banes Machine Shop/Banes Plumbing both swept to doubleheader victories Monday in Medina Women’s Softball League competition.

Jr. Wilson II bested Team Monte Alban by scores of 16-6 and 19-9 while Banes downed Just Us 10-1 and 16-11.

Laura Valley had a home run and Jen Hughes a double and triple in the opener which saw Jr. Wilson II  score 3 runs in the first inning, 4 in the second and 7 in the third.

Hughes finished with 4 hits as Valley and Jenn Thom both had 3.

Tiffany Robb, Koreena Couch and Megan Perkins each had 2 and Ashley Crawford a triple for Team Monte Alban.

In the second game, Julie Tette, Valley, Nicki Maryjanowski, Jen Hughes, Thom, Desi Hughes and Jen Molisani each had 3 hits for Jr Wilson II which tallied 3 runs in the first inning and 8 in the second.

Sunshine Heschke and Jamie Heschke both had 2 hits for Team Monte Alban.

Banes used a  big 6 run first inning to key the opening win over Just Us as Connie Heschke, Kathy Allen, Jami Chatt, Robin Blaun, Lindsay Chatt, Lexi Neuman and Patti Page all had singles.

Hits by Sue Seefeldt, Jessica Carpenter and Allen quickly tacked on 2 more runs in the second inning.

Allen, Grace Masse and Lindsay Chatt each had 2 hits in the game.

In the second game, Banes used big back-to-back scoring innings of 5 in the third and 6 in the fourth to key the win. A home run by Masse and a triple by Blaun highlighted the big third inning. Neuman, Heschke, Seefeldt, Allen and Jami Chatt then all had singles and Jen Masse and Grace Masse doubles in the fourth.

Seefeldt finished with 4 hits including a double as Heschke, Jen Masse, Lindsay Chatt and Grace Masse each had 3.
