Jr. Wilson 1 rallies late for win; Banes rolls
Jr Wilson 1 came back down four runs in the top of the 7th to beat Bent’s Opera House 15-13 on Monday night in Medina’s women’s softball league.
Sara Flansburg led off with a single followed by Justine Daniels to start the rally. Four walks and a single scored 2 runs. Flansburg came up again and ripped a 2 run double.
Bent’s came back and scored 2 in the bottom of the 7th to keep it close but could not capitalize.
Daniels, Kaitlyn Miller and Chasity Chinn all finished with 2 hits.
Michelle Crandall was 2-4 with a double and Jessica Rosenbeck was 2-2 with a 3 run triple.
Kelsey Schmitt was 5-5 with a double, Alisha Foss was 3-4 and Cathy Schmitt 3-4 with a double to lead Bent’s Opera House.
Jr. 1 faces off against White Birch next Monday at 7pm in hopes of staying undefeated.
Banes 16, Hojacks 2
Banes likewise stayed undefeated at 5-0 by downing Hojacks 16-2.
Banes scored 4 runs in the second inning on singles by Rileigh McCabe, Patti Page, Danielle Cervone and a triple by Morgan Allis.
Banes then broke the contest open with6 runs in the third on singles by Connie Heschke, Sue Seefeldt, Jen Masse, Robin Blaun, Kathy Allen, McCabe and a double by Page.
Banes also tallied 6 times in the fourth frame on singles by Morgan Allis, Jessica Carpenter, Heschke, Seefelt, Jen Masse and McCabe.
McCabe, who also picked up the win in the circle, went 3-3,Page 2-3 with a double and Allis 2-3 with a triple.
Banes next faces Genesee Foods next Monday at 6 p.m. at Jr. Wilson 1.
